A: The Green Man is an ancient symbol for man’s oneness with nature.
The image of the green man is usually seen as a face with leaves emerging
from the mouth.
Q: What’s different about Cliff Spenger’s “Green Man”?
A: Cliff wanted to create a stilt-walking character. In 1996, after learning about the Green Man, he knew immediately. He would be a Walking Tree Green Man.
Q: How long does it take to put on?
A: Ten minutes.
Q: Does he get hot in there?
A: Although it still gets warm, Cliff wears a specially designed coolant vest run by a battery pack.
Q: What is it made of?
A: The entire body of the costume is canvas with many layers of paint, silk leaves, real moss, and plastic grass.
